Ex-spouse reportedly took the life of a hospital employee, according to family claims, who in their opinion were sending distress signals before the tragic incident.

In a tragic turn of events, Mario Green, a former Detroit hospital worker, has been arrested for allegedly fatally shooting his ex-wife, Latricia Green, at Henry Ford Hospital.

The shooting occurred on the hospital premises just before 10 a.m., where Latricia Green worked in the basement. Witnesses reported that Mario Green claimed he was dropping off some of Latricia Green's belongings. However, an argument ensued, and during the altercation, Mario Green allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times.

The hospital was placed on lockdown for a short time following the incident, and a statement was released expressing condolences and cooperation with the police investigation. The hospital also extended sympathy to Latricia Green's loved ones, including her family and coworkers.

Mario Green's car, a white Dodge Charger, was found abandoned in a Detroit neighborhood a few hours after the shooting, but the suspect was not found until early Saturday morning. Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison called the suspect a "monster" upon his arrest around 3 a.m.

In the months leading up to the fatal shooting, Latricia Green's family described her as "a woman crying out for help." Rodney Hickman, Latricia Green's cousin, echoed this sentiment, stating that she had been seeking help and protection.

In June 2022, Latricia Green filed for a personal protection order against Mario Green, but it was denied. She sought another order in July, following accusations of harassment and stalking, including incidents where Mario Green showed up at her job. The judge granted the order in July, deeming Mario Green a threat to his ex-wife, but police say it was never served to him.

Mario Green has a history of prior convictions. In 2001, he was convicted of aggravated stalking, and he spent almost six years in prison for arson before being released in 2012.

The Michigan Department of Corrections provided information about Mario Green's criminal history, but there is no publicly available information on his current whereabouts or confirmation about the alleged 2021 court case in Detroit or the accusation of Latricia Green's murder. The search results do not contain relevant details about this person or the incident.

The hospital is also conducting its own internal investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of its staff and patients.
