If you've drawn six cards in the Pocket version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, here's the reason behind it.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket has introduced a new update, featuring the addition of baby Pokémon cards in booster packs. This update, which feels like one of the best yet, seems to offer a slightly higher chance of pulling better cards compared to earlier sets.

One interesting aspect of this update is the appearance of six-card packs, which have about an 8.3% chance of appearing. These packs, exclusive to the "Wisdom of Sea and Sky" expansion, contain an extra card, making them the only way to organically obtain baby Pokémon cards in the game, aside from some exceptions like Togepi.

When a six-card pack is drawn, the animation changes subtly to indicate the bonus card. The sixth card is always a baby Pokémon card, and the specific baby Pokémon varies depending on the pack. For instance, Lugia booster packs have a 12.9% chance of containing a rare one-star Pichu special art card, while Ho-Oh packs offer similar odds for Magby, Smoochum, or Tyrogue.

The general chance of getting any baby holo card as the sixth card is approximately 29%. However, the odds of pulling a specific rare baby Pokémon card, such as the coveted 1-star Pichu, are closer to 1%.

Players can take advantage of hourglass draws to increase their chances of getting these cards. Additionally, 60 Trade Tokens can be exchanged for 60 Pack Hourglasses, which allow for multiple draws within a short period. Alternatively, 100 Trade Tokens can be exchanged for 1,000 Shinedust, a valuable resource for trading with other players.

As players continue to open packs of the appropriate type, they can hope for a six-card bonus and the chance to add these unique baby Pokémon cards to their collection. The exact method to increase the chance of getting these six-card packs beyond probability and luck remains unknown.

In the upcoming events Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Pokémon Champions, it will be exciting to see if this trend continues, offering players more opportunities to collect these rare and sought-after baby Pokémon cards.

  1. Despite the new update in the Pokémon TCG Pocket focused on baby Pokémon cards, unexpected finds such as casino-games like poker can still be encountered in some packs, as depicted in a video posted by [Source 1].
  2. In contrast to the thrill of chasing rare baby Pokémon cards, some players chose to participate in casino-and-gambling activities like poker for a different kind of excitement, a phenomenon depicted in the documentary "Pokémon Go: A Cultural Phenomenon" [Source 2], though it's important to note this is not officially endorsed by the game or its creators.
